Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Summer College students enroll in one or two lower division undergraduate courses appropriate to their interests, background, and previous academic achievement. Students attend regular Summer School college classes with college students. A typical full-time schedule for a five-week session is six credits. Outside of class, students participate in various programs planned by the counseling staff and learn about the importance of time management. Fundamentals of Business: Leadership in a Global EconomyJuly 7 - August 9, 2008
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. This program is designed to give students the opportunity to explore the area of business through an intensive five week, three credit, undergraduate course. Students will receive college credit upon successful completion of the course. Areas to be covered will be finance, marketing, accounting, management, communications, strategy, planning, organizational behavior, information systems and business law. There will be one field trip to a business in the area, in order to provide participants hands-on knowledge of a working industry. College Preparatory ProgramJune 22 - July 12, 2008

This two-week program highlights the global issues, but at the same time immerses you, at times literally, in the spirit of "acting locally," using the Anacostia River as a laboratory. Georgetown partners with the Earth Conservation Corps to give you the opportunity to study firsthand the threats to a delicate tidal wetland ecosystem and then participate in restoration activities. National Security and CounterintelligenceAugust 3 - 10, 2008The National Security & Counterintelligence program brings together Georgetown's unparalleled government and international relations resources to explore security and counterintelligence issues. Faculty and guest lecturers, including high-level government officials and attorneys, offer firsthand perspectives on the practical issues and ethical dilemmas of a new world order where color-coded threat levels are presented alongside the daily weather. Special field trips take you on an insider's tour of some of the prominent government institutions that focus on security and intelligence. Performance Arts WorkshopJune 15 - 22, 2008You will explore a variety of disciplines and genres, from scriptwriting and acting to music journalism, rock 'n' roll history, ethnic dance, and film. You will do ensemble work with your group, and go on field trips to the Kennedy Center, the Folger Theater , and guided tours of the city's most famous performance districts. Workshop discussions with some of the nation's most prominent artists and critics give you an insider's view of performing and performances.
